BED AND BREAKFAST IN THE CHURCH

Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of North Holland, the former Dutch Reformed church of Etersheim is located close to the Marker lake. This historical heritages is our home since 2002. Since 2012 we have added two nice rooms with private bathrooms for bed and breakfast: You can stay high up in the church in the spacious Top floor room, which offers a breathtaking view over the agrarian landscape and Marker Lake, or the cozy, original Ground floor room. Une nuit passé chez Saskia et rien à dire, tout était parfait. Malgré la barrière de la langue, très bien accueilli, explication claire. Le logement correspondait à l'annonce avec une vue superbe calme et paisible. un point d'honneur sur le petit déjeuner, y avait tout! Merci encore et je recommande cette aventure dans une église très bien réaménagé.

What an amazing location with wonderful views in all directions! Saskia is a great host, super friendly and accommodating. The venue itself is unique... we never slept in a renovate church before. The location is close to Hoorn and Edam. This time we stayed one night. If we would have stayed longer, it is great location to for long walks or bike ride along the dikes of the IJsselmeer. Waking up in the morning to the surrounding views was special. Breakfast was yummy! Loved it and highly recommended! thank you Saskia!

We had a great time at this lovely Airbnb. It was truly unique, staying at a room inside a church, and the room itself plus the view and surroundings were very beautiful. Saskia was very welcoming, and the breakfast she served us was absolutely perfect! We would definitely recommend a stay here.

ここでの滞在は本当に素晴らしいものとなりました。バス停から遠くはありますが、それだけの価値があります。オランダの牧歌的な雰囲気を体感しながら、元教会の建物にプライベートな部屋を用意していただき、大変心地よく解放しながらゆったり過ごすことができました。素敵な朝ごはんを用意してくださり、朝食を食べながらおしゃべりする時間も幸せでした。またオランダに来ることがあればぜひ泊まりに来たいです。

Eine außergewöhnlich, tolle Unterkunft. Fantastisch ruhig gelegen und doch so nah an touristisch sehenswerten Orten. Wunderbar ruhig und entspannt zum Laufen, Spazieren... am Deich, durch die Ortschaft, durch die Wiesen... Täglich ein fantastisches Frühstück, es hat an nichts gefehlt.

This was a return visit for us and we highly recommend it for a stay. The top floor apartment with kitchenette is spacious, light-filled and with a wonderful view over the surrounding polder landscape and the IJsselmeer in the distance. Saskia is a lovely host and we enjoyed spending time with her. We were able to store and charge our electric bicycles in a little shed out the back.

Perfect original hide away in the middle of nature. Waking up with the sound of birds in a very cozy room, good breakfast and very friendly host, I couldn't wish for more. Great location for day trips to A'dam and other cute litte cities or to stay around the b&b and make lovely walks nearby. The view from the room was stunning and I wish I could have stayed a bit longer for a bit more writing :-) Loved it!

Pour une pause Hollandaise, Je recommande de venir poser vos valises le temps d’une nuit ou d’une week-end! A 25 min d’Amsterdam nord, vous trouverez une hôte adorable, un lieu insolite où dormir et un confort extrême! Nous avons trouvé notre petit pied à terre proche d’Amsterdam.

We had a terrific stay with Saskia. The apartment was just lovely, with great views of the countryside out the windows. It is very comfortable (great bed), charming (the building is in an old church), and the room is very clean, thoughtfully planned and well appointed. It is not a large studio, and therefore we were amazed how it had everything we needed. We loved staying in a more rural part of the Neterlands- the house itself and grounds are beautiful, with fields and cows to see out our window. We enjoyed walking around to see the fields, canals, hand up to the dike. Mirjam also provided a great (large) breakfast (eggs, rolls, yogurt, fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc). We even saw a rainbow out our window in the morning!

Ich hatte einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt bei Saskia und kann das Airbnb definitiv weiterempfehlen! Saskia war super nett und die Kommunikation war einfach und unkompliziert Das Zimmer ist mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht (kleiner Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle etc.). Fand es sehr schön, dass man gemeinsam mit den anderen Gästen im grossen Wohnzimmer frühstücken konnte (definitiv ein besonderes Highlight in einer ehemaligen Kirche zu frühstücken!). Das AirBnB liegt sehr ruhig gelegen und ist toll für Ausflüge in der Umgebung.
